Hi, my name is Kourtnee. I am a 21 year old college student at Fayetteville State University, majoring in Public Health with a concentration in Community. I've been a caregiver for majority of my life. Starting with my grandma who suffered from Dementia and Alzheimer's, as I grew older those feelings and admirations I have for caring for people and empathizing and actively caring and understanding people grew abundantly. I've worked in settings such as retirement homes, nursing homes, senior living facilities, etc as a Personal Care Aide for the past 4 years. I can say I truly enjoy being a helping hand for people and families that need it most especially with the stressors that comes with caring or just being someone for a person in need, which I've experienced first hand. As a caregiver, my accomplishments and achievements have been fulfilled when I see the light and positive impact of actually being there and caring for a person and showing support, all good things are reciprocated.
